Abstract:
      For the HVRT and LVRT requirements of the doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs), a coordinated protection control method using series impedance and stator dynamic reactive current is introduced. During the fault, the method puts in the series impedance instantly to guarantee the control capability of the rotor-side converter. The stator reactive current is dynamically adjusted, and the fault voltage is compensated by the partial voltage of the series impedance. The method for setting the series impedance is given to make full use of the stator reactive capacity. The scheme guarantees the safety of the stator winding under high voltage faults, improves the control capability of the rotor-side converter, and fits the reactive support current requirements of the grid guide. The effectiveness of the method is verified based on the RTDS hardware-in-loop simulation platform.
