Abstract:
      Charge control and four-phase interleaving buck converter with constant-current output are combined to extend the stability range and improve the transient response. Charge controlled and peak current controlled four-phase interleaving buck converters are compared. An unified small signal model of the two control methods is established. Based on the unified model, the stability and transient performance of the converter un-der the two control methods are analyzed comparatively. It is found theoretically that charge control has the wider stability region and better transient performance than peak current control when there is no ramp compensation. Finally, the simulation and experiment results prove the validity of the theoretical analysis.
