Abstract:
      A topology of EV charger is introduced in this paper, which includes the front-end PWM rectifier and the back-end resonant converter. Since the battery voltage varies in a relatively wider range(200~450 V), in order to improve the conversion efficiency in the full voltage range, the converter operates in three modes according to the change in output voltage, i.e., below resonant-frequency FM mode, fixed switching frequency mode, and above resonant-frequency FM mode. The loss analysis in these three modes was performed; the parameters of the main circuit in the resonant converter were designed, which were verified on a 10 kW experimental prototype.
