Abstract:
      The use of secondary-side winding of a traction transformer as a wave smoothing reactor in DC system is a key technology to reduce the size and weight of a double electric locomotive. Different modes of the secondary-side winding connection may possibly result in a nonlinear equivalent inductance value, which will affect the stability of DC bus voltage. To solve this problem, the transformer is treated as an ordinary inductor at first, thus the equivalent circuit of a double electric locomotive system in DC power supply mode is established, and the stability of DC bus voltage when the traction transformer is reused as a wave smoothing reactor is analyzed using the small signal analysis method. Then, a calculation method for the inductance value of the small signal model is proposed in forward and reverse connection modes. In this way, the influence on the stability of DC bus voltage when the traction transformer is reused as a wave smoothing reactor can be analyzed. The whole analysis and solving process is of value to guiding the development and application of multi or double electric locomotives.
