Abstract:
To improve the voltage gain, switching frequency and power density of a traditional non-isolated converter while realizing electrical isolation and a decrease in inductor current ripple as well as in the converter’s volume and weight, a magnetic integrated switched-inductor isolated Zeta converter is proposed. A transformer is added to this converter to achieve electrical isolation, and the energy storage inductor in the traditional converter is replaced by a switched-inductor. Afterwards, the switched-inductor and transformer are magnetic integrated. First, the working modes of the converter are analyzed, and the expression of its voltage gain is deduced. Second, the magnitude of inductor current ripple is analyzed, and the magnetic integration design scheme of this converter is presented. Compared with the traditional Zeta converter, the voltage gain of the novel converter can is improved by N(1+D) times while the current ripple of the switched-inductor is nearly halved. Finally, the theoretical analysis was verified by the experimental results of a prototype, showing that the proposed converter has excellent comprehensive performance.
