Abstract:
In the design of an LLC resonant converter, resonant network parameters have an important influence on the performance of the converter, and their reasonable selection is a precondition and guarantee for the LLC resonant converter to achieve a high efficiency. For this reason, a simple novel design method for the resonant network parameters is proposed, together with the design procedure. Based on the analysis of the loss, resonant network's transmission efficiency and voltage gain of the LLC resonant converter, the appropriate value of kQ product is selected. As a result, the converter can satisfy the gain requirements, the primary-side switches can operate with zero voltage switching, and the secondary-side rectifier diodes can operate with zero current switching, thereby improving the converter's efficiency significantly. Finally, a 1 kW prototype was built, and experimental results verified the validity of the proposed method.
