Abstract:
      Under the condition of a lower power factor, space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM) cannot con-trol the DC bus neutral-point potential of a clamped three-level inverter. Based on the study of the essential relation between carrier sinusoidal pulse width modulation(SPWM) and SVPWM, the zero-sequence components required by co-ntrolling the neutral-point potential are deduced according to the modulation principle of SVPWM. In this way, the corresponding modulation wave is constructed. By suppressing the fluctuation of neutral-point potential using the carrier SPWM method, a neutral-point potential balancing strategy is proposed based on the hybrid control of carrier SPWM and SVPWM. Simulation results verify that this hybrid control strategy can effectively suppress the fluctuation of neutral-point potential.
