Abstract:
      To effectively detect the stator winding inter-turn short-circuit fault of an asynchronous motor at an early stage, a dynamic mathematical model for an asynchronous motor under stator winding inter-turn short-circuit fault is established in this paper at first. Next, this model is calculated and analyzed using the theories of reference frame transformation and space-vector transformation, and a novel inter-turn short-circuit detection method is put forward based on the calculation of torque double-frequency ripple. Through the construction of the mathematic model of the fault motor and the simulations thereafter, the changes in torque caused by inter-turn short-circuit fault are studied, which verifies the feasibility of the proposed method. On this basis, it is proposed that the stator winding inter-turn short-circuit fault of the asynchronous motor can be diagnosed with the double-frequency component of the calculated torque as fault characteristics. In addition, the robustness and accuracy of the proposed method are analyzed. In this way, a novel diagnosis method for stator winding inter-turn short-circuit fault of the asynchronous motor is formed, which can provide a new research idea for motor fault prediction.
